Expert in vegetable genetics and breeding。Former Director and Party secretary of the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, is now a researcher, chairman of the academic committee, doctoral supervisor of the institute。He has been engaged in vegetable genetic breeding research for a long time, and began to preside over cabbage genetic breeding in the early 1970s。In 1973, the first Chinese cabbage hybrid "Jingfeng No. 1" was cultivated by self-incompatibility line in China.。In the 1970s, the male sterile material DGMS79-393-3 with dominant nuclear gene of cabbage was first discovered, and he led the research group to establish the breeding technology system of cabbage self-incompatibility line and male sterile line, which had an important guiding role in the genetic breeding of cabbage and other cruciferous vegetable crops in China。He has won 1 first prize of National technological invention (1985), 3 second prizes of National Scientific and Technological Progress (1991, 1998, 2014), and 4 national invention patents。In 1988 and 2001, he won the National Labor Medal twice，He Liang Heli Science and Technology Progress Award in 1996，In 1999, he was awarded the first-class award of national Outstanding professional and technical talents by the Organization Department of the Central Committee and other four ministries，In 2000, he was awarded the title of National Advanced worker， In 2014, he was named one of the top ten national seed industry meritorious figures。
